What is the difference between a Task and an Action?
Understanding the Task and Action classification and how both use the same functionality.
Tasks and Actions
In ClearVerso, every work item is managed through the same Task functionality. When you create a work item, you choose a classification:
- Task — planned work with a schedule, duration and dependencies.
- Action — an action item, typically arising from a meeting, decision or review.
Both classifications use the same task management features:
- Start date, due date and duration.
- Owners (one or more).
- Status, priority and % Complete.
- Checklists, links and dependencies.
- Board, Timeline, Calendar and List views.
- Export to Excel, PDF and PNG.
Milestones
Milestones are a separate planning type (zero-duration key dates). Milestones are always classified as Task.
Filtering
You can filter the task list by classification (Task or Action) to focus on one type at a time.
The Task/Action classification helps you distinguish planned work from action items, while keeping everything in one place. Existing records without a classification are treated as Task.
