Removing a user

When a user leaves your organisation, you need to reassign their responsibilities before removing them. ClearVerso guides you through this process to ensure no work is lost.

The reassignment process

  1. Open Users in the organisation workspace.
  2. Find the user and select Remove from organisation.
  3. ClearVerso reviews the user's outstanding responsibilities across active projects:
    • Tasks and Actions — items they own.
    • Risks — risks they own.
    • Issues — issues they own.
    • Dependencies — dependencies they own.
    • Assumptions — assumptions they own.
    • Queries — queries they own.
    • Lessons — lessons they own or are reviewing.
    • Governance Events — events they own.
    • Project Manager or Sponsor — roles held on active projects.
  4. For each responsibility, reassign it to another eligible user in the organisation. All outstanding responsibilities must be reassigned before you can proceed.
  5. Confirm the removal.

What happens to historical attribution

The user's name remains on all records they created or owned — historical attribution is preserved. Their name continues to appear in audit logs, updates and timeline entries.

Releasing licences

When a user is removed, their licence is released back to your organisation's pool. You can then assign it to a new user.

You must confirm the removal explicitly. ClearVerso will not remove a user until you have reviewed their responsibilities and confirmed the action.
